Hi Val,
I adopted a lovely black rex dwarf female rabbit from
you at the end of last September, who I've named Mrs Rabbit. I'm really
sorry it's taken me so long to send you some pictures of her. She's
doing well and seems a happy bunny.
Sadly, the same cannot be
said of Benjamin, who I adopted from Pets at Home about a week before I
adopted Mrs Rabbit from you. After taking Benjamin for a check up with
Margit, it transpired that he had a chronic bone infection (one of the
worst Margit had ever seen, in fact she thought it was a malignant
tumour at first) and very sadly, the kindest thing was for him to go to
sleep a few weeks ago.
I made a complaint to Pets at Home -
locally and to their HQ, because poor Benjamin had been sitting in his
cage in their shop for 6 months without ever having had a vet check
him. His notice said he was 'grumpy and best not suited to children'. I
am convinced it was his infection which caused him pain, that's all,
and he could have been treated for it over those 6 months. I couldn't
believe how negligent PAH had been. PAH did refund the cost of
Benjamin's initial consulation and treatment (£220 - Margit had to do a
biopsy to find out if he had cancer) and said they would look at
improving procedures in the shop. I'm very sceptical whether anything
will change though and I worry for the other animals there.

Hi Val
We are so sorry to let you know our beautiful rabbit Bramble
passed away last week. He lived with us for 2 years and was the most
affectionate and loving rabbit I have ever had. We loved him so much and are
totally devastated that he is no longer with us. He became ill very quickly but
we are relieved that he passed away peacefully in his sleep and know he had a
fantastically happy life.
Sleep well baby Bramble. Elly&Matt x

Hello Val,
i got him to another vets who put him on IV fluids and syringe fed him
and he started doing better with the weight, but was just too tired and
couldn't keep going. He went quietly, no struggle. The new vet also
doesn't know whether it was viral or a parasite that got him in the
end. Suggested even VHD, but he had been vaccinated for that and if he
really thought that he wouldn't have let me bring him back to say
goodbye to Effie, which he did. Both vets said his immune system was
not well.
So sad. he was the cutest little bunny and I am so glad I knew him. He
won over everyone at the vets as he was so good and sweet tempered.
And everyone who met him thought he was adorable. he was cheeky and
loved chewing my paperwork. He would jump on my couch and sometimes
settle down for a rest, but usually he liked resting with Effie or
chewing boxes together - re-arranging the furniture.
it is hard to accept a little one so young can die. He was only ten
months old.
I can't believe it and am missing him terribly. So sorry. Jo

Hi Val
Unfortunately little jeff died last week when I was on holiday. He
was staying at his usual holiday home and somehow managed to escape. A
cat had chased him into a corner of the garden, he was found but the
shock was too much for him!. He was a lovely amazing little bunny and i
miss soo much. I would just like to share a bit about jeff and things i
really miss
Whenever I came into the flat he would rattle his cage demanding
to be let out, he would follow me about the flat exploring all the
time, he would sit on top of the sofa watching TV with us or suddenly
fall flat on his belly and fall asleep! His favourite past time was to
rip paper and would ripe my study notes out of my hand when I was
studying for my exams. He wasn't keen on being picked up but loved to
be stroked especially by my partner in exchanged of
being gently nibbled.
Very sad that his life was so short however I know he was a very
happy content little bunny and loved his home and treats! Watching TV
will never be the same!
Love you little jeff

Hi Val,
Here are a couple of photo's of our darling Maude (not sure what
she was called before) who we adopted only a couple of weeks ago and
who sadly passed away suddenly last week.
Even though she was only with us for such a short time we loved
her to bits and miss her terribly. She was the most fantastic little
bunny and we are glad that we were able to give her so much love in her
final weeks.
R.I.P little Maude.

Dear val, It is with a heavy heart and tears on my face that I write to tell you that
Munchie (who you named Tinker) went to the bridge this morning. I will
miss him so much. He was living in the house with us and had become so tame. He
loved nose rubs and sitting watching TV with us. I noticed that he didn't
seem himself last night, he was still running around but hadn't eaten.
This morning he didn't look good at all, he got ill very quickly. He died before
we got to the vets. I feel so guilty RIP Munchie 2007-29/11/08

Hi Val, I rescued 5 year old grey Netherland Dwarf Pheobe only
a month ago. Sadly this morning she passed away. I am absolutely
devastated. She was a beautiful, sweet, shy bunny. She was out having a
cuddle on the sofa with me only last night. She was happy and seemed
her normal, docile, snuggly self, I don't know what could possibly have
happened. She wasn't ill or out of sorts she just passed. Maybe the
move was all too much for her, she was very timid. I loved her very
much. Here are a couple of photos of her I thought you might like to
see. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to know and love her. Ellie.
So sad to hear this news but glad her last months were with you much loved in her new home. val

Hi Val
I am sending you a picture of Lionel my red
belgian hare I bought from you a year and a half ago. He sadly died
last sunday from pnemonia apparently. I have spoken to you but thought
maybe you could put his picture on the memory page as he was one very
memorable rabbit. I have kept rabbits for 20 years and Lionel was the
one who I had most of a bond with. He had the most AMAZING temperament
and and everyone who met him (vets etc) commented on his people skills,
saying he was absolutely adorable. I have never met a rabbit who
performed so many binki's in such short spaces of time, he seemed to be
the happiest rabbit I have ever had the pleasure of owning. I am so
gutted but glad I still have my black belgian doe (Doris) whom we are
still deciding what we will do to keep her happy. I will speak to you
soon re. Doris and I have enclosed a couple of pictures of Lionel being
the gorgeous man he was. (a couple of the pics were taken last saturday
the day before he died)
Love Leanne.

Sorry we haven't been round as Snugs has been
having a few problems with his hair balls in his belly. We have been
giving him parsley and all sorts of greens and hay. He had just started his
winter moult and his belly started to make more and more noises. Nevertheless,
it wasn't the illness that ended his life. He died on Saturday 20th September
because of an accident and he is buried next to Mango in our garden. We are all
very sad and since he followed me everywhere and sat on my lap while I was doing
homework I can't believe he is actually gone. Everyone especially me and my mum
have been crying all day and night and I find it extremely hard to sleep
without him snuggling up next to me and me reading him bedtime stories. He was
the bestest ever rabbit in the whole universe and he was one of a kind. He
was my baby and my mum's third child. Even my dad cried!! I will miss
him waking me up and putting me to bed and cuddling him after school. He was the
one thing I looked forward to after school. We had just planted him some parsley
seeds and bought, cut and cleaned him four bunches of parsley, a packet of
spring greens and two bundles of fresh hay! I will miss him cleaning my face in
the morning and soaking up my tears with his lush hair, however, when he was
buried with a pillow from his cot and his angel rabbit teddy bear, his eyes were
still happy and sparkling and there was a sweet and cheeky smile on his face.
Sadly when he died my mum was visiting her sister and family in Paris and even
though she was eating out in a restaurant she couldn't even eat her dessert.
Everyone else didn't want to eat either and I didn't even want breakfast
the next morning. Snugs took up three quarters of the space in my heart and he
still does. Now that hes gone, we are definately wanting another rabbit, so
please do let us know if any seem suitable. We would prefer a baby rabbit but a
adult couch potato would be just fine too. Snuggles was my bestest friend and I
wish he could come back to me... but hes in heaven now with probably 100
girlfriends all ready!!!! Snugs will never ever ever be forgotten and will
always be my best friend. Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much for him- he made my
life much happier and easier too!!
love from Carissa, Helena and family.

SADLT TINY HAS PASSED AWAY, HE WAS A SPECAEL LITTLE MAN. PART OF HIS NEW MUM AND DADS LETTER.
We are so heartbroken; he was such a lovely rabbit. We are devastated by the news, and I’m feeling so guilty to have taken him to this vet.
The house is terribly empty without him, he was following us everywhere, he was watching TV with us, and eating as the same time we were eating, if we were in the office he was lying down on his little blanket with us. And from the last 2 weeks, he was now joining us in bed every Saturday and Sunday. He gave us lots of love and we gave him lots of love too. I’m so upset that he only stayed with us for 6 months I wasn’t expected him at all to be with us for such a short period of time.
I miss him so badly it’s horrible.
Sorry Val, I wish I wouldn’t have to tell you this. Vanessa
BINKY FREE TINY, YOU LEAVE US MORNING YOU. |

Today the 1st of june we lost a lovely rabbit to a rare complaint.Prolapse of the bladder.
Misty came in to us with three babys, she came from pets at home with what was supposed to be a second doe.The second doe was in fact a boy. By the time anyone realised she had given birth and mated again. When she came in her babys were 3 weeks old a week ;ater poor misty gave birth again to another three .
She was such a good mum and a lovely girl who after all her troubles was ready to be rehomed for a new life of her own.She was rushed to the vets today with a prolapse that we thought may have been her womb, but when they operated found it was her bladder and there was nothing to be done for her.
Rest in peace little one your in a better place. |

Very sadly i have to report that mango a young yellow cross dutch has passed away. He was rehomed a little while ago and
had some eye problems, these were being treated by his fantastic new family.A few days after he was castrated he passed away.
Were not to sure what happened. But i can say that in his tragic short life he found heaven on earth with the family that
adopted him. He was loved and treated like a king, he was happy. Sadly we cannot keep our pets for long as there lives
are all to sort, but to know care and tenderness makes all the difference to them. Run free little mango you were loved and now your free.
